Today, 10 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. Our client is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families, and provides them with clinical, practical, emotional and financial support. You can be a part of helping them cope with cancer and get the most out of life.

About the role: 

This is your opportunity to join a leading charity at a really exciting time. You will play a pivotal role in the introduction of a new brand and communications strategy and will help to make sure our client's campaigns and communications achieve real results for the children and young people they support. 

About you: 

We are looking for an experienced communications manager who has lots of ideas and is calm under pressure to join a fun and high performing team. You will have a strong track record in campaigns and media relations. You will also have strong influencing skills and a proven ability to advise and influence staff at all levels. You will be able to work effectively on your own, confidently juggling competing demands whilst managing and motivating a team. 

As Communications Manager, you will have responsibility for managing the day to day activity of the Media and PR team. You will play a lead role in communicating about key areas of our client's policy and influencing work, fundraising activities and services, to a wide range of audiences. 

This will include producing innovative PR plans and activities that promote and guard the reputation of the charity. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists, partners, creative agencies/contractors and staff at all levels of the organisation.
