This youth charity uses the power of the sea to transform the lives of thousands of young people each year, funded in part by also being the world’s largest provider of marine training, ranging from water sports instructor, through to training officers working on vessels up to 3,000 gross tonnes.
Head of Fundraising
Salary: up to £45,000 pa
Cowes, Isle of Wight
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer you will be accountable for the delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy supported by a Fundraising Co-ordinator. Working as part of the Leadership Team you will develop strong, collaborative working relationships across the organisation but particularly with colleagues in marketing and communications to increase the profile of the charity and its funding needs. You will also have a strong role in actively promoting and managing the external reputation of the charity.
To succeed you will need to demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of charity fundraising across a range of disciplines including corporate fundraising and high net worth individuals and trusts. Experience of producing reports and supporting information to the Chief Executive and board of trustees; attending trustee meetings on an ad hoc basis to present fundraising information is also essential.
Your personal attributes will include having the ability to build relationships, through strong influencing skills, with a wide range of people including donors and volunteers.
