Individual Giving Manager
£27,328- £32,600 p.a., discretionary to £36,672 p.a., depending on skills and experience (Grade 6 of the University Salary scale).

Our client has ambitious plans for its institutional development and the new Individual Giving Manager will join the Development team at an exciting juncture. With over £20m already raised towards a £30 million target in support of ‘Access to Excellence’, the College’s strategy is engaging the best applicants, whatever their financial or social background. Coupled with its placement in the top of the Oxford academic rankings, it is part of our client’s mission to show that fair access and academic distinction go hand in hand: it is by broadening the talent pool – at national and international levels - that they find the very best students. The expansion of our client’s successful regular giving programme is at the heart of this endeavor.

The Development team is now looking to recruit an Individual Giving Manager to add to its team of seven. The Annual Fund plays a central role in the College’s fundraising strategy, bringing in an average of 10% of its annual income (£800K). As one of the most successful regular giving programmes in Oxford, more than 23% of alumni give support and there is a real buzz and momentum surrounding the College's presence, promoting social mobility on a national stage. This enthusiasm and dedication also engenders a healthy conversion rate from annual donors to Major Gift donors.

The new Individual Giving Manager will build on this outstanding track record, working to increase income over the next 3 to 5 years. The role not only involves traditional methods of fundraising, but also innovations in mixed/social media, working with current students and leavers, and face-to-face fundraising with committed donors. The post-holder will have a unique opportunity to guide the direction of this programme to the next level, adopting a creative and innovative approach to further expansion.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of contributing to the success of a dynamic and trailblazing regular giving programme in a school or HE institution. S/he will have in-depth knowledge of direct marketing, telephone fundraising and data management, not just in the processing and implementation of these annual fund functions.  Most importantly, s/he will have creative flair and drive which will make the candidate stand out. A flexible, strategic and hands-on approach to the work, as well as the ability to inspire, energise and enthuse students, colleagues and volunteers with whom they will work at all levels, will be essential.

The college is looking to appoint the best Individual Giving Manager in the sector to build on past successes, and help deliver its ambitious ‘Access to Excellence’ programme.
