It’s hard to believe that today over 650 million people still don’t have clean, safe water and 2.3 billion live without an adequate toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every two minutes.

WaterAid is looking for a Business Development Manager to play a vital role in our mission to transform lives with safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest communities.

Working within the Business Development Team, the Business Development Manager will:

  • Contribute to the development of the Corporate Partnerships Team fundraising strategies.

  • Keep up to date with fundraising and other appropriate industry journals as well as legal issues affecting corporate fundraising and developments in WaterAid’s overseas programmes and relevant issues.

  • Undertake any other relevant and reasonable tasks within the Corporate Partnerships Team as requested by the Senior Business Development Manager and the Corporate Partnerships Team Leader

  • To be successful, you’ll need to be:

  • A motivated and experienced business development professional with a passion for international development.

  • Excellent at negotiating and building relationships to enable you to secure high value partnerships for WaterAid.

  • Proven experience of generating new business from cold either in corporate fundraising or in a commercial setting

  • Externally focused and proactive attitude, with the energy and passion to engage people and excite them about WaterAid

It's an exciting time to join a dynamic, high-performing team with ambitious plans and a successful track record in corporate partnerships.

By 2030 we want everyone, everywhere to have safe water and sanitation. We need you to help us make it happen. If you bring your expertise, passion and professionalism, we’ll give you a lot back.

Working with us, you will be entitled to a wide range of employee benefits, such as an exceptional pension fund, medical cash plans, an employee assistance programme, generous annual leave and Save As You Learn schemes, as well as fitness and lifestyle programmes.

Please note: in order to apply for this role you must be able to demonstrate your eligibility to work in the UK.

This vacancy will end one minute before midnight on the closing date specified. No recruitment agencies please.

The first-round interviews will take place during the week beginning 3 October and second-round interviews will take place during the week of 10 October.
