We need a dynamic assistant shop manager with retail experience and a passion for our charity who will assist in taking the shop forward. With an interest in furniture, fashion, books and bric-a-brac, and management experience, the people we are looking for will be leaders and ambassadors for Arthritis Research UK. Target driven and with a positive outlook, they will have a flexible, “can-do” attitude, and a good head for figures.

About the role

In conjunction with the shop manager, the post holder will assist with the management of the shop and the volunteers, creating a welcoming and friendly environment for customers to purchase good quality stock, whilst attracting donated goods through local appeals and promoting the work of the charity.

Key requirements

The post holder must have:

  • Assist with management of the shop and volunteers
  • The ability to manage the shop/volunteers in the absence of the shop manager
  • Be expected to travel reasonable distances to provide cover in other shops as necessary
  • Recruit and train volunteers
  • Help with stock procurement
