My client, a membership body based in Central London is looking to recruit an experience Events Manager into their busy team, on a temporary for the duration of 3 months.

The right candidate will have experience of leading, managing and delivering end to end prestigious/flagship events of up to circa 400/500 delegate attendance of highly qualified individuals. The person must have worked with memberships/professional body or small professional services organisations or equivalent, as they will be required to internally service six departments, as opposed the usual business to business type service.

Tasks for this role include:

-Managing two Events Executives.

-Oversee a certificate presentation ceremony at HQ in December-simple event that requires management.

-Oversee an evening of technical lectures.

-Prepare in Nov/December for the Presidents Inauguration and Farewell Dinner held in January 2017.

-Oversee other up and coming events in Quarter 4 (October to December 2016) and Quarter 1 (January to March 2017)

The below experiences/skills are paramount for this role:

-Experience of running formal black-tie dinners for up to 400 guests, including: liaising with hosts, contractors, and guests; table planning; guest registration

-Experience of organising large award ceremonies, including: working closely with the venue and AV company on the planning and content production; briefing hosts and compere; preparing event running orders; managing a team of staff helpers on the night

-Ability to work closely with people at all levels, including event stakeholders, high profile guests, sponsors, and event contractor

-Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

-Budget management

-Outstanding organisational skills with a solutions orientated approach to problems.

-Ability to deal efficiently and diplomatically with complex tasks and enquiries at all times and under pressure.

-Sound judgement, accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

-Previous membership experience is mandatory.
