Our client is a registered charity delivering specialist and innovative domestic abuse services, proud to be considered a pioneer and leader within their field across the North Staffordshire area.  Their holistic approach supporting children, young people or adults; victims/survivors or perpetrators is done in a confidential, non-judgemental and flexible way.
They’re looking for someone to provide one-to-one support to victims of domestic violence who have been referred to the service after attending Accident and Emergency at the Royal Stoke Hospital. You will work on a one-to-one basis with each customer, assessing their needs, producing risk assessments and support plans, and providing practical, emotional and advocacy support. You will also plan and deliver specialist clinic sessions for victim/survivors to attend at the hospital to address their immediate needs. You will also be responsible for delivering domestic abuse awareness training to health professionals.
To carry out this role it is essential that you have:
Experience of identifying customer needs and delivering support
An understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on the individual
Ability to produce written information clearly and concisely
Ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of situations and contexts
Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team and with partner agencies.
A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
