IT Development Manager
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the nation's heart charity with a mission to lead the fight for every heartbeat through pioneering cardiovascular research. We fund thousands of scientists carrying out more than half the UK's cardiovascular research and our work has been central to the discoveries of vital treatments that are helping to change the face of the UK's fight against heart disease.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Development Manager to develop, implement and support the key applications that underpin the success of our IT projects and systems and in turn allow the BHF to achieve its wider charitable objectives.
You will liaise with key users and external partners to understand requirements and frame solutions which are appropriate in terms of function, cost, timescale and benefits. With the ability to provide leadership and build relationships across divisions in the delivery of IT systems you will lead and manage our Development function and suppliers in the effective design, development, implementation and support of new and existing systems.
Working with a team of IT Project Managers, you will deliver projects as well as managing, mentoring and develop a team of staff to successfully meet and deliver the businesses vital and lifesaving objectives with innovative development solutions.
With experience that includes packaged systems integration and pure development and exposure to the web, desktop & Intranet/ Extranet, you'll be used to working with others to define systems requirements and obtain benefits from systems. Experience of coaching, supervising and quality assuring the work of staff is also essential, whilst your technical experience should preferably include exposure to the full Microsoft Development framework and supporting infrastructure products.
