Are you passionate about global health?

Prospectus is working closely with the WFSA (World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists) to source a Projects Officer on a two year contract to play a pivotal role in supporting their growing programme portfolio.

Over 5 billion people do not have access to safe, affordable surgical and anaesthesia care when needed and anaesthesiology and surgical care have been identified by the WHO and the World Bank as neglected areas of global health. With 130 Member Societies made up of anaesthesiologists in over 140 countries the WFSA is uniquely placed to influence these inequalities and to help ensure universal access to safe surgery and safe anaesthesia.

The post holder will work closely with the Programmes Manager and the wider Secretariat team to fulfil an eclectic range of operational and administrative duties to ensure the continued success of existing programmes and the successful delivery of 2 new key partnership programmes. They will be tasked with the implementation and continued development of systems and procedures that facilitate the consistent flow and accuracy of information to all relevant stakeholders to increase the overall programme efficiency. Furthermore, they will provide exemplary administrative support in the form of organising meetings and follow ups, travel logistics, attending events, participate in briefings and generally play a vital part in the smooth running of the programmes and the wider secretariat. A high standard of confidentiality will be needed for the Projects Officer as they will act as a key point of contact in engaging donors and ensuring all relevant information, including financials, is tracked and recorded to a high quality and released when required.

This unique opportunity requires the successful candidate to have outstanding organisational skills and exemplary attention to detail, for example in the preparation of agendas. Alongside a solid numerical aptitude and the ability to analyse financial information and monitor costs they will need to have a proven track record of managing a high volume workload in an administrative or programmes support role, ideally within an international NGO setting. This multifaceted role requires a candidate with a good degree of flexibility that can approach a variety of tasks and take the initiative when required and who ideally has knowledge of delivering global health programmes and/or an academic qualification in international development.
