 Funding Co-ordinator (Grants and Trusts)

Purpose of job

To write bids, secure income and work with the communities team to develop funding requests

Responsibilities

  • Complete appropriate funding bids to grant and trust funders and local authority partners.
  • Managing records of all funding bids including outcomes and reporting requirements, supporting managers to make sure monitoring systems are in place
  • Develop and maintain links with current and future funders and build partnerships
  • Support our continuing understanding of unmet community need in Kent and keep up to date on needs identified by funders in the sector and region
  • Work with the wider team to develop new business ideas based on unmet need
  • Manage performance and reporting information for funding partners
  • Research and target charitable trusts and other funders whose criteria match the charity's aims and activities
  • Undertake any other duties to achieve the purpose of the job

 

 

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience

  • Professional fundraising qualification and membership of the Institute of Fundraising
  • An understanding of the voluntary and community sector in Kent

  • The role will be based in either Sevenoaks, Swanley or Medway with scope for home working, 22.5 hours a week

  • Organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Confident using Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Ability to review project costs and put together budgets for bid applications
  • Proven track record of securing income from a range of charitable sources
  • Experience of working for a community or voluntary sector organisation
  • Experience of bid writing
  • Experience of competitive tendering processes

Qualifications 

  • Fundraising qualification and membership of the Institute of Fundraising
