This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young people. Lord Wandsworth College has over 100 years of supporting disadvantaged children; our Foundationers are at the heart of our College. The Development Director will play a fundamental role in fundraising to continue this tradition of transforming lives. Building on a strong foundation of philanthropy, the successful candidate will develop and deliver a strategic plan for fundraising at Lord Wandsworth College.

The Role

The primary focus for the new Director will be fundraising for the Foundationers/bursaries.  Additionally, the College has long-term ambitions to build our endowments to ensure that this tradition of inclusivity and support continues for centuries to come. Alongside the fundraising ambition, the College has a 10-year vision and strategy which provides opportunities to develop capital campaigns.

The Director will have oversight of the newly formed Development team, which will incorporate our Alumni Relations and Foundation activity.  The Director will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.  The person will work closely with the Bursar and with the Director of Admissions and Marketing.

Person Specification

Management experience in a fundraising or development role with a proven track record of securing major gifts from a wide range of individuals and organisations.  Confident self-starter, able to work independently at senior leadership level with the ability to develop, articulate and implement a strategic vision for stakeholder relationships in support of the aims and objectives of the College.  Outstanding communication, presentation, relationship-building and networking skills are necessary.
