retailTRUST has undergone a cultural and organisational transformation since the arrival of CEO Richard Boland over 3 years ago. It has gone from being a traditional benevolent charity to an ambitious, forward-looking, 21st century hybrid of social enterprise and charity which supports the wellbeing of all involved in retail - be it yesterday, today or tomorrow - including all those supplying and providing support services to the retail industry.
retailTRUST focuses on helping three stakeholder groups: those who have worked in the sector (cottageHOMES), those who currently work in the sector (retailHUB) and those seeking to work within the sector (retailRIGHT), and they are currently developing new and exciting projects such as pre-traineeship programmes and the introduction of apprenticeships for 16 to 24 year old NEETs and individuals with learning and physical disabilities, as well as retailCURE, a credit union for individuals employed in the retail sector.
retailTRUST wants to continue to grow its services for those most in need, and to develop new services. The timing is now right to recruit a new Director of Fundraising to review current fundraising practices, and create and implement a new fundraising strategy which will fund and support the excellent services retailTRUST provides to its stakeholder groups.
The Director of Fundraising will be responsible for a step-change in fundraising and will ensure that fundraising is embedded throughout the organisation. Substantial investment will be made to grow the fundraising team, along with a drive to engage and enthuse all stakeholders involved; including Trustees, local volunteers and employees of retailTRUST; to place fundraising at the heart of the organisation and participate in its development.
It is a very exciting time to join the retailTRUST and to lead its fundraising team. With Richard Boland's new vision for the future, the organisation has been revitalised and is ready for this new strategic direction to be at the heart of an exciting case for support for fundraising. The new Director of Fundraising will build on the success of this vision and will create and implement a five year fundraising plan for the Trust. S/he will manage a growing team of 6, work closely with the CEO and the SMT to drive forward a successful fundraising strategy. The Director of Fundraising will play a vital role in ensuring that the funds are brought in to support the projects and services the retailTRUST provides to support those who have dedicated their lives to the sector, to support and improve the working environment for those currently working in retail, and to to ensure the best training and education opportunities for those whose future lies in the retail business.
This is a unique chance for a motivated, strategic, entrepreneurial senior manager with a track record of success in fundraising, to make a mark on an innovative organisation.
