The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland.  At the Woodland Trust, we influence policy makers and opinion formers, to work with us to ensure society fully maximises the benefits and opportunities from our trees and woods in the 21st century.

Working as part of the External Affairs team, the Regional External Affairs Officer, will help to increase the Trust’s influence amongst decision makers. The Regional External Affairs Officer will work with local and central government agencies in order to guarantee that woods and trees are valued in key policies and investment decisions.  Ensuring they are incorporated into relevant delivery plans

The chosen Regional External Affairs Officer will be committed to the Trust’s aims and possess an understanding of current affairs/ political processes in the context of environmental and heritage issues. As the Regional External Affairs Officer you will of course have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

The Regional External Affairs Officer will demonstrate a strong understanding of current affairs. They must be able to demonstrate an ability to influence policy and build strategic relationships with national decision-makers and policy influencers.
