Their dedicated staff employed provide a range of support and services to people with a range of often complex support needs. They currently employ around 3,000 staff supporting over 2,000 people. Their Service Quality Directors make sure that our client delivers on its Vision of demonstrating that people with a learning disability can be leaders in Society. 
They are looking for motivated, creative and friendly individuals to join their team in Blackburn 

Position: Part Time, Full time and Relief Support Worker 
Location: Haslingden & Blackburn, Lancashire 
Salary: up to £7.81ph

About the Role: 

Being a Support Worker means you may be helping the person on a 24 hours basis. You may support them to go to work, do personal tasks, do household jobs or enjoy their favourite hobby, through to more exciting tasks such as moving into their own home for the first time or planning a holiday. Your role will be varied and no two days will be the same. 

Whether you’re new to supporting people or have years of experience, you will get the training and support you need to do your job really well through their learning and development programme. No experience is necessary, as they are looking for people with the right values and attitude. 

You will work together with people’s family, friends and the professionals who get involved in their lives. Together you will support the person to enable them to live independently and achieve their ambitions. 

About You: 

Communication skills are key so you can help people live the life they choose. Knowing how to use the internet would be advantageous, but not essential, to enable people to do things such as their shopping, access social networks and plan their support. 

Basic maths and literacy skills are essential, as you will need to help people do basic tasks such as manage their post, complete forms and help with money and medication. You will also be good at working together with other staff in ways that suit the people you support; this may mean that you will negotiate with other staff around you. 

An NVQ/ Diploma level 2 in Social Care and other related qualifications (or other relevant subject or willingness to undertake) would be an advantage, as would previous experience in providing care and support. A Driving Licence is preferred.
