Director of Development
- Contract Type
Our mission is to break the cycle of crime and violence by helping people to change their lives.
We aim to empower individuals with the skills and understanding they need to develop their own alternatives to violence, desist from crime, improve their futures and build stronger and safer communities. Through this work we foster empathy, personal regeneration, motivation and aspiration.
Khulisa brings tried and tested South African programmes to the UK; adapting them to suit market needs. These programmes, delivered at their full potential, achieve outcomes significantly better than our closest rivals (and other interventions) in prisons, schools and other establishments.
That said, we do not pretend to have all the answers; hence we value cooperative and partnership working with our fellow professionals to share expertise and learn together. By joining forces, we can better serve participants and foster long-term positive, sustainable, outcomes.
We are all about personal development, both inside and outside of our organisation. We aim to live and breathe the mantra of ‘practice-preach’. Our heritage, traditions, values and beliefs define who we are as an organisation and shape how we conduct ourselves - honesty, calmness, humility.
Your empathy with who we are as an organisation and our journey will ultimately determine whether the role of Director of Development for Khulisa is right for you and vice versa. You simply could not engage donors in our work without truly believing in what we do, why it is important and how we do it.
In a rapidly changing landscape, your task is to ensure that we engage donors to support the delivery of our impressive and powerful programmes, which change lives and keeps us at the centre of debate to influence policy.
There is considerable scope to develop a range of commercially fundable propositions through innovation and a variety of models whether this be direct, in partnership or through social enterprise expansion as we look at new ways of increasing our reach and impact.
Full-time, permanent (part-time may be considered)
Closing date: 10.00 am Monday 26th September
