Robertson Bell Finance is working alongside The Mayhew Animal Home to find a Head of Finance to join their team based in Kensal Green. Just a five minute walk from the Kensal Green station, The Mayhew works year-round to help prevent animals suffering. They deliver this through a multi-level approach combining their re-homing service with providing shelter for animals, offering a clinical service onsite, and educating the wider community. They operate internationally with some members of the Senior Management Team making international visits, talking about the work they do and educating others their ethos. The Head of Finance and Facilities will assume the responsibility for producing the annual budget and running the year end process. Bringing together these duties and overseeing the payroll, the Head of Finance and Facilities is a pivotal strategic position that will play a key role in directing and facilitating the growth of the organisation. The key financial contact for the Board, the Head of Finance and Facilities will be responsible for producing relevant financial reports and presenting these, taking a lead role in directing decision making and the growth of the organisation. Being the number one finance role within this organisation, they will lead on the management of financial and operational risk; this will include developing strategies to mitigate risk. The Facilities dimension of this role includes overseeing the payroll and some operational staff. This role demands someone who is comfortable being hands on and strategic, who identifies with the goals of the organisation and is enthusiastic about playing such a pivotal role in their future growth and the projects they have coming up. 

The successful candidate will be a qualified (CCAB) accountant with a proactive outlook and a real passion for the charity sector. With strong experience both leading the financial accounting function and the budgeting and forecasting function, the ideal candidate will be excited about the opportunity to contribute strategically to the growth of this organisation. This role offers a great opportunity for someone coming from a charity background to join a growing organisation in a number one role.
