Living Landscapes Support Officer (Conservation / Environmental)
Full Time (35 Hours per week)

Our client has a mission to secure Living Landscapes and Living Seas and to inspire society to value nature. They look after nearly 100,000 hectares of land and have an unmatched presence on the ground helping to inspire millions of people about wildlife every year.

They are currently seeking a Living Landscapes Support Officer to join their team based in Newark. The main purpose of this role is to provide support to the Living Landscapes Team in respect of the development, promotion and advocacy of key land management and freshwater policies related to the mission of creating Living Landscapes.

You will help to support the development of the essential evidence base to underpin the Living Landscape campaign and policy work, and will identify ways to use this information creatively to influence land use and land management legislation.  A confident and effective communicator, you will have the ability to analyse complex issues and present them in a way that will inspire others.

Working as part of the Living Landscapes Team you will have knowledge and understanding across a range of subjects relating to the achievement of Living Landscapes such as agriculture, freshwater management (eg. Natural flood management, catchment-based approach), rewilding and species conservation.

A true professional, you will be self-motivated with a business approach and the ability to think on your feet. You will work as part of a team and be expected to travel occasionally around the UK.

The successful candidate will have a relevant environmental degree, or equivalent or will ideally be working towards a relevant qualification. Alternatively, you will be able to demonstrate equivalent experience. Innovative and creative, you will have strong attention to detail and the ability to make good decisions.  It is important that you have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly establish rapport.

If you want an exciting new challenge and you have a passion for wildlife and nature, then this role is for you.
