Project Leader
Shared Interest Foundation is a British based international development charity whose mission is to support disadvantaged fair trade producers. It is a sister organisation to Shared Interest Society Limited, the world’s leading fair trade lender.
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Project Leader to join our Foundation team. You will be responsible for the research, development, implementation and evaluation of the Foundation’s overseas projects and programmes. Ensuring delivery of project objectives at each stage and providing appropriate reporting to institutional donors you will need to build effective relationships with donors and other agencies, including our partners’ in country. The role will be based in Newcastle but will involve periods of national and international travel.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, ideally in international development. In particular you will have experience of capacity building, evaluation, facilitation and drafting of project proposals for institutional donors. You will be able to demonstrate strong research and analysis skills together with experience of managing and delivering projects funded by donors. A team player, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you must be self motivated, proactive and organised with experience of working in a multi task environment. With the drive and enthusiasm to get things done you will be comfortable working to tight deadlines.
Knowledge of fair trade and experience of working in the developing world will also be an advantage. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate commitment to and empathy with the aims and objectives of the Society and Foundation.
