Salary: £22,800 per annum, rising to £24,000 after 6 months
Location: 1 post split between Crystal Palace and Croydon, 1 based in Croydon and 1 based in Stockwell
Permanent, full-time - 37.5 hours per week, Mon – Fri
Are you interested in improving the lives of socially excluded homeless young people and to helping them to build a better life? Our client, a leading provider of supported accommodation for young homeless people in South London, are currently recruiting for three Rent and Income Advisors to support customers to manage their finances.
Minimising customer rent arrears by implementing the Rental Income Policy, you will be working on a one to one basis with customers supporting them to manage their money and understand their financial responsibilities. Promoting financial inclusion through providing welfare and benefit advice will be a crucial element of this role, as well as liaising closely with the Housing Benefit department to ensure claims, backdates, overpayments and appeals are processed efficiently.
Previous experience of managing rent arrears in a social housing setting is essential, as well as providing welfare and debt advice, dealing with occupancy/tenancy agreements and implementing rent arrears procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the support needs of verified rough sleepers and will have worked with people who have experienced homelessness and displayed challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will also have housing management experience.
