Head of Legacies

Sue Ryder is looking to appoint a Head of Legacies to lead and manage the planning, development and implementation of a UK wide Legacy Strategy which delivers sustainable long term growth. This role is based in their Central London offices.

Role Description

This position is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact across the breadth of this renowned Care Service Provider's expanding Legacy Fundraising programme.

Currently Legacies account for nearly £6m pa and are a vital source of income. However there is real potential for growth in legacies at Sue Ryder and the successful candidate would play a key role in the development and delivery of a new approach across the charity.

You will lead the growth of legacies through developing, delivering and evaluating effective marketing plans. In addition, you would work towards creating a culture which normalises legacy promotional giving throughout Sue Ryder.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing Sue Ryder's current Legacy Development programme

• Leadership of legacy planning and forecasting.

• Developing cost effective and focused marketing plans for increased support through legacies

• Evaluating the current individual donor base and devising plans for increasing the number of regular givers

Who we're looking for:

The ability to lead beyond your authority and to inspire and influence senior managers to think differently is essential. This is not a business as usual job and we need someone who is equally strong at financial forecasting and delivering a marketing plan.

You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in charity direct marketing, membership marketing or similar marketing roles. Your ability to use CRM systems and apply this analysis to forward plans will be impressive, and you will have a strong understanding of brand marketing in its broadest sense.

This role will offer you the autonomy to lead change as part of an ambitious team within an organisation that is open to positive evolution and development.

About Our Client

At Sue Ryder, we're passionate about giving people the care they want. This can be in our hospices or neurological residential centres, day centres or day clinics, in the community or in people's own homes. Our care is personal. We start with the person as an individual with their strengths, characteristics, preferences and aspirations. Then we help them to be at the centre of the process of identifying their needs, so they're supported to live their lives.

Sue Ryder is a large organisation with an annual turnover of £78m, 3,400 staff and 8,000 volunteers. There are plans to expand and improve the quality of personal health and social care services in communities across the UK. In addition to this, Sue Ryder is working toward increasing the number of high street shops, from 350 to 500 over the next 3 years.

Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
