MAIN DUTIES:
·Further develop fundraising programmes (primarily applications to grant making trusts, events and developing local fundraising groups).
·To maintain and nurture relationships with current grant makers and donors.
·Carry out research to identify potential new sources of grants and submit applications that will enable the charity to sustain the services set out in the business plan.
·To seek donations from agreed individuals, trusts and local businesses.
·Develop local fundraising initiatives with staff and service users and support their efforts to raise unrestricted income locally.
·Regularly evaluate progress and prepare periodic reports for the director and trustees on progress towards agreed fundraising objectives.
·Have responsibility for the web site fundraising pages to ensure information is up to date and accessible for prospective funders as well as parents and others.
·Develop contacts with the media in order to promote fundraising activities and services to families.
·To manage and support the assistant fundraiser.
ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
·1.5 years' Fundraising experience.
·Experience of researching, preparing and submitting applications to grant making trusts.
·Experience of devising and supporting a local fundraising programme.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
·Excellent oral and written communication skills.
·Networking and relationship-building skills.
·Ability to meet deadlines.
·Ability to create and manage budgets.
·IT and data base management skills.
·Ability to enthuse and lead a team of volunteers.
·Good presentation skills including Web based presentation.
