Service Manager (Retail/ Community / Food) – Nationwide Vacancies
WRVS is an age positive national charity founded over 70 years ago. At a local community level we deliver personal and practical support, making a difference to the lives of 100,000 older people every month. The Service Manager will be responsible for either coordinating a range of community based WRVS services or the day to day management of a busy retail unit / coffee shop working closely with their Locality Manager to improve the reach of WRVS services to more older people. The Service Manager will lead a team of WRVS volunteers and staff, ensuring that services are delivered in line with WRVS brand values: Personal, Practical, Professional and Positive.
Retail / Catering
Serving patients, staff and visitors in a WRVS Café or Shop, the role will involve a wide range of duties including opening / closing the unit, serving customers, receiving, lifting and sorting deliveries of stock, financial procedures, managing volunteers and other duties which ensure high standards of customer care.
Community
The Service Manager will be running the day to day management of the Community Services which incorporates community transport, good neighbours and meals on wheels operations. In addition you will oversee and support other small community projects within the area. You will need a flexible approach, have excellent management capabilities and as the post requires a high level of interaction with the community, an interest in community development is essential.
