East Cheshire Hospice has an exciting opportunity for a Community Fundraising Officer to join a growing Income Generation team. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop our current small community fundraising programme and develop into a proactive and professional income stream which reflects the values of our community based organisation.
Fixed Term 12 month Contract, 37.5 hours per week, based Macclesfield.
Key elements of this exciting role include:
1 – To ensure that local fundraising, community events, activities and collections are run effectively, well supported and operate within legal and ECH guidelines
2- To proactively encourage community groups and individuals to raise money for East Cheshire Hospice through activities such as community fundraising, events, collections and special campaigns and Hospice Care Week.
3 – To develop and launch community fundraising campaigns to attract specific target markets
4 – To work with the Fundraising Manager to account manage major community events such as the Christmas Tree Collection and Art Fair
5 – To work to specified income targets, expenditure budgets, objectives and KPI’s and to report on these regularly as required
6 – To represent East Cheshire Hospice at cheque presentations and support group meetings as appropriate
8- To be visible in the local community and give talks and presentations to local organisations within the catchment area e.g. schools, rotary clubs WI’s etc to increase awareness of East Cheshire Hospice fundraising
9- To update and maintain general fundraising support packs and individual community fundraising campaign response packs
10 – To manage the schools database and develop engagement with schools across the catchment area
11 – To take on any other duties that fall into the community fundraising area
Skills/Abilities
Essential
Excellent communicator, written and oral with the ability to adapt communication to suit audience
Ability to develop relationships with the public from a wide variety of backgrounds
Ability to use a fundraising database to record information and identify opportunities to promote community fundraising
Ability to work as part of a team
Demonstrable ability of pro-actively increasing income through community fundraising
Desirable
Ability to use power-point to create presentations and public speaking skills
Experience
Essential
A minimum of two years experience in a fundraising environment
Experience of community fundraising techniques
Experience of developing and launching new fundraising campaigns
Experience of managing community groups
Proven experience of pro-actively increasing income through community based fundraising
Desirable
Experience of working with Raiser’s Edge & Net Community
Experience of marketing and PR
Behaviours
Ability to take responsibility for own personal development and be proactive in keeping abreast of the fundraising sector and relevant training opportunities
Excellent team working and interpersonal skills with a flexible and supportive attitude to colleagues

A willingness to work anti social hours, including evening and weekends
Car owner or ability to travel within our hospice catchment area (East Cheshire)
