Cheshire Community Foundation has at its heart, “Making Cheshire Better”. We help people who want to give back to the places in which they live and do business by connecting them to the local community and helping them invest in that community in an intelligent and impactful way. By 2016 we aim to have built a £5m endowment fund for Cheshire and hope to be giving away close to £1m a year in grants.
Only 6 months after recruiting its Chief Executive the Foundation is ready to build its executive team by recruiting a Grants Manager. This is a unique opportunity to play an important role in ensuring that the significant funds entrusted to Cheshire Community Foundation by donors are allocated in an intelligent, transparent and targeted way so that the greatest impact is achieved where it is most needed in communities across Cheshire. With a track record of success in managing a grant programme and assessing and monitoring grant applications, you will demonstrate sophisticated analytical skills including the ability to make risk assessment judgments, an exceptional degree of objectivity and empathy, passion, and knowledge of the charitable areas supported by Cheshire Community Foundation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are crucial.
Cheshire Community Foundation is a small but ambitious business. The successful candidate therefore needs to be able to work both independently and collaboratively and be able to adapt to a small aspirational organisation. Clearly, you will need a commitment to the aims of Cheshire Community Foundation and be a passionate advocate of Cheshire: the place and the people.
