The ASA, the National Governing Body for Swimming, is seeking a Head of Volunteer Engagement to be responsible for leading the ASA/BS volunteer programme, ensuring that the relationship between volunteers and the organisation is mutually beneficial.
The ASA/BS currently has volunteers involved in activities which range from running swimming clubs to officiating at the Olympic Games. This role is a new post designed to support the on-going development of volunteering within the sport and the volunteer experience.
Reporting to the Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs the key areas of responsibility will be to lead and manage a small team, to develop policy and process relating to volunteering and develop and implement a volunteer training programme.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of managing both staff and volunteers, developing and implementing a successful volunteer programme, as well as possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills that will ensure that effective relationships are maintained with both internal and external stakeholders. In addition the post holder will have an ability to influence and negotiate, together with strong organisational skills .
