Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides emotional and practical support for families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. This Sunday Times Top 100 Not-For-Profit organisation is looking to appoint an Assistant Regional Fundraising Manager to plan and manage Regional Fundraising activity in the North East of England, supporting our established Family Support Team in Durham.

This is an exciting time for a manager, experienced in regional fundraising, to join Rainbow Trust as we are an ambitious charity with a clear vision for growth and a strong sense of values. Your enthusiastic, co-operative approach to achieving goals quickly and accurately will be recognised in our high-performing organisation. Reporting to the Regional Fundraising and Development Manager, you will take responsibility for managing Friends Groups, Corporate Partnerships and various Community Groups to meet fundraising targets and raise local profile. You will also manage all aspects of the regional fundraising office.

You will develop our volunteer fundraisers into committed Rainbow Trust supporters and manage local community and sporting events to deliver income within agreed ROIs. Managing a number of volunteers, interns and ambassadors you enjoy taking the initiative and independently making decisions within your area. Utilising the fundraising database to full potential, you will interpret management information to report regularly and make recommendations.

Comfortable with a changing environment, you will thrive controlling multiple projects and achieving success through your persuasive and considerate approach. A self-starter who has successfully developed at least three of the following income streams; Educational Establishments, Volunteer Fundraisers, Corporate Fundraising, Events, Community and Friends Groups, you are confident in the application of relevant charity law and risk assessment. Through holding responsibility for project budgeting and monitoring you can demonstrate your success of driving income and delivering growth targets.

You understand, through your knowledge of the principles that underpin good customer care, that being a clear, warm communicator essential. Having previous experience in a field-based role you appreciate the need to balance donor management and developing new income streams. Applications will be particularly welcome from those who have some commercial experience and those who understand effective PR/marketing. Educated to degree level (and preferably with an IOF qualification) your strong networking and negotiation skills and sense of urgency will support your friendly and self-contained working style.

There will be a requirement for flexible working to support evening and weekend events.
