The International HIV/AIDS Alliance supports communities to meet the challenges of AIDS and build healthier communities. Our vision is a world in which people do not die of AIDS. Since 1994, the Alliance and its partners have supported over 3,000 projects, in over 40 countries, reaching millions of people.
In 2013, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance (“the Alliance”) celebrates 20 years at the forefront of the fight to end AIDS. The Alliance is a not-for-profit/NGO registered in the UK and US, made up of 40 member organisations in: Africa; Asia and Eastern Europe and Latin America. Our current strategy, HIV and Healthy Communities voices the collective will of these organisations and the secretariat in our vision of a world in which people do not die of AIDS. We focus on achieving this goal by supporting communities in the three regions to play a full and effective role in the global response to AIDS.
We are now seeking an experienced monitoring and evaluation manager to bring leadership and practical solutions to how we make informed decisions and remain accountable to our stakeholders. The post holder will form part of a widely skilled Planning, Analysis and Learning (PAL) unit whose remit is to coordinate how we analyse, triangulate and share both our own and external evidence. This evidence is used to improve programme implementation and create a learning Alliance. The Programme Manager: Institutional Effectiveness will be required to provide leadership in the following areas:
Ensuring the effective use of the Alliance secretariat’s Strategic Information System
Analysing and sharing data in way that encourages its demand and use
Coordinating M&E technical support to develop the capacity of Alliance partner organisations and to ensure a high quality monitoring and reporting function across the project cycle
Together with the Associate Director: Field Programmes and one other Programme Manager within the PAL unit, the Programme Manager: Institutional Effectiveness will also take on responsibility for work planning and team management. In addition, she/he will play a key role in representing the Alliance externally, sharing the work of the PAL unit and influencing key stakeholders.
