Job title: Operations Manager
Salary: £30k - £35k

The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund provides invaluable support to serving and retired Royal Marines and their dependants. They are looking to raise an additional £6 million in funds by the 350th anniversary of the Royal Marines in 2014 so that they can ensure the support of their beneficiaries long term.
To help them to achieve this they are looking to recruit a permanent Operations Manager to take over the day to day management for operational efficiency of the charity and to represent the Trustees and Chief Executive on all routine matters so that they can focus on achieving the charity’s aims. The post holder will be the initial RMCTF point of contact for the Corps family and will be required to establish a good personal reputation with all constituents as these form the core of supporters who raise funds for the charity.
The post-holder will have responsibility for coordinating routine operations, executing all directed policies and for assisting with the development and delivery of appropriate processes to ensure success. Management of financial practices will need to ensure that the charity is protected from risk. You will also be tasked with company secretarial duties, overseeing, recording and authorising governance and administrative expenditure and managing contracts with suppliers, fundraising companies and sponsors.
This varied and interesting post requires a broad approach from someone with relevant previous charity sector experience and would suit someone with clear, pragmatic reasoning, the ability to balance multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines and the strength and confidence to work well with their peer group to achieve shared goals. You must also have sound administrative and IT skills, a loyal and reliable personality and a clear and friendly manner.
Interested candidates must be educated to degree level or equivalent, have relevant experience of coordination and team working at middle management level and excellent knowledge of the governance and legal framework relevant to charities. You will also have demonstrable line management experience, be financially literate, have experience of preparing and managing budgets and be able to work in a developing, organisation with changing priorities.
