Our client is a leading charitable organisation based in Central London. They have recently brought together their media, celebrity, story gathering and internal communications functions and this team is responsible for developing and managing relationships with key external and internal stakeholders, including journalists, celebrities, their Royal patron, staff and volunteers.
The team is already highly respected inside and outside of the organisation. They are a voice of authority on learning disability; high profile celebrities front their innovative fundraising campaigns and they enjoy exceptional relationships with individuals who are prepared to share their personal experiences and stories to help change happen. The role also involves designing and implementing the long term PR strategy, developing and maintaining positive relationships with journalists and publicity through broadcast, print, digital and social media. You will also act as the spokesperson during media interviews. In addition to this, you will play a key role in promoting the understanding and awareness of the charity's aims and developing this to a wider audience.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to develop a strategy that takes a high performing team to the next level. The role sits on the external relations senior management team. The position will suit an experienced manager looking for a new leadership challenge in one of the UK's top charities. The candidate must be able to combine strategic and creative thinking with effective planning skills. The ability to lead beyond their authority and to inspire and influence senior managers to think differently is essential. This is not a business as usual job so experience of implementing and leading teams through change is essential.
