Role description
This is an exciting opportunity to work for a National Health Charity, as the Head of Media and Public Affairs. You will lead on the overarching external affairs strategy supporting the charity's ambition, leading a small team you will develop innovative campaigns, effective media communications, and develop relationships with key stakeholders and journalists.
Your role will be to ensure an effective crisis communications framework is in place,and thatmedia plans are aligned to and support the organisation's focus on key outcomes; maximising the reputation and also raising the profile of the organisations' major campaigns and events
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate for this Head of Media and Public Affairs will have the following skills and experience:
- A successful track record in media and public affairs work
- Strong strategic thinking, with proven experience of developing and implementing media strategies
- Proven track record in the creation and development of relationships with stakeholders, journalists and opinion formers
- Experience of integrating social media into communications, maximizing the digital media environment to build profile and support
- Evidence of having achieved change through influencing policy and or campaigning activity
