Senior Media & PR Officer- Policy

We are currently recruiting for a leading international development charity. You will have experience of working in a policy or campaigns focussed media role. You will have excellent knowledge of the media and have a good understanding of international development.

MAIN DUTIES:
Develop and implement PR and editorial opportunities to raise the profile of the charity
Work with teams across the charity, particularly policy and advocacy team and country offices
Research and develop strong ideas and communications plans
Establish and maintain good contacts with national, international and specialist journalists and bloggers
Write media materials including press releases, briefing documents, feature pitches and blogs
Support the day to day running of the press office

ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
Demonstrable experience of working in a policy or campaigns focussed media role
Excellent knowledge of the media (including social media), particularly national, international and political
Good understanding of international development, policy and campaigning
Experience of developing relatio0nhsips with key journalists in development and political media

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Excellent writing skills
Ability to present complex information in a form appropriate to the audience
Ability to work under pressure
Confident and concise presenting skills
Good networking and relationship building skills
