Managing Director RSPCA Enterprises
The RSPCA is the largest animal welfare charity in England and Wales, currently employing over 1,600 people and with 166 branches. Its mission is to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate suffering of all animals, nationally and internationally. The Society funds its annual running costs, currently in excess of £100m, almost exclusively by voluntary donations and legacies.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual with a proven track record of creating, developing and growing business activities and a strong commitment to animal welfare.
The role:
The Society is embarking on a significant period of change and, at the same time, is also looking to expand its work. That growth will, in part, be supported by a major expansion in its commercial activities.
We are seeking an individual for this new and exciting Board-level role reporting to the Society's Chief Executive. The postholder will take over the leadership of the Society’s current commercial activities. Freedom Food's Managing Director will report to this post and the holder will be responsible for developing these existing business streams and developing new ones.
You will possess:
Commercial acumen with a track record of developing and building new revenue streams, preferably with an animal welfare/ethical connection
Experience in maximising income areas from collaborative partnerships in either the commercial or charitable sector
An ability to think strategically and creatively with a practical hands-on approach enabling vision to be turned into commercial reality
Energy and enthusiasm, coupled with a demonstrable and strong commitment to animal welfare
Closing date for receipt of applications: 1 June 2012
