Operations Executive – Fundraising Events
£18,320 - £26,410 pa (including hotspot allowance of £1,500)
Oxford
Our supporters play a vital role in raising our profile, boosting our fundraising efforts and spreading the Oxfam message. That’s one of the reasons we organise sponsored events; to engage with them and make their efforts as worthwhile as possible. Bring your operational management skills to our team, and you’ll help to drive the supporter experience and take us from strength to strength.
The role
Oxfam puts on an exciting agenda of fundraising projects and live events every year. So you’ll be building on our success as you plan, organise, manage and deliver the operational aspects of our well established long-distance walking events, Trailwalker and Trailtrekker, and our calendar of running events.
With an eye for detail, you’ll work closely with suppliers to ensure that all logistical needs are met on-time and to the standard required, whilst resolving any problems or issues that might arise at any time including event day. You’ll also make sure that all the materials our volunteers and participants could need are prepared beforehand. On the day you’ll coordinate all live activity including inspiring the volunteers, making sure they’re having fun and encouraging their ongoing support. It’s an important role. Because with every event you help bring to life, you’ll be helping to raise more money, and ultimately, put a stop to poverty and suffering.
What we’re looking for
We’re after someone from a project management background. Someone with passion and enthusiasm for delivering live events on a significant scale, and ideally outdoors. Creating the best volunteer journey calls for first rate communications skills, and you’ll know all about motivating and inspiring those around you. Risk management and health and safety knowledge are essential. As is the ability to adapt to changing priorities – remaining calm and collected in pressurised situations. Highly organised, you’ll deliver unmissable events to tight deadlines; making an impact at the heart of a highly respected network.
About Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
