Scope and the Voluntary Organisations Disability Group (VODG) are offering an exciting opportunity for either a social care or influencing professional to take a leading role in shaping the public policy agenda on social care.
Scope is one of the UK’s largest disability charities, and in today’s challenging financial climate we are looking for passionate and impactful individuals to join our organisation. You will take responsibility for shaping and implementing our social care influencing strategy to ensure that the voices and experiences of disabled adults are reflected in forthcoming social care reform in England and Wales.
The role includes a part-time secondment to VODG, of which Scope is a member, where you will lead the formation of and influencing on third sector policy solutions and responses to social care reform in England and Wales.
VODG is a grouping of over 60 leading voluntary sector and not-for-profit social care provider organisations that works on behalf of its members to influence and develop social care policy, build relationships with Government and other key agencies, promote best practice and keep members up-to-date on matters that have an effect on service delivery.
VODG members work with around a million disabled people, providing services that promote independence, choice and control. They share common values, employ more than 65,000 staff and have a combined annual turnover in excess of £1.7 billion.
You’ll be a dynamic, hard-working and focused professional with a strong demonstrable background in delivering impactful solutions either in the social care or influencing sectors. You’ll have strong analytical skills, the ability to collaborate to develop effective policy solutions and use your relationship building and effective communication skills to shape the ideas and actions of decision makers.
