Job Title: Trust & Grants Fundraiser, Scotland & Northern Ireland

Reports to: Head of Scotland and Northern Ireland

Based: Scotland and NI Office, Suite 104 Baltic Chambers,
50 Wellington St, Glasgow, G2 6HJ

Hours of Work: Part time, 18¾ hours per week.

Salary: £13,000

The Company

One in seven people across the UK is affected by a lung condition. In Scotland & Northern Ireland the rate is one in five, and in some areas it’s much higher still. The British Lung Foundation (BLF) is the only national charity solely dedicated to tackling all lung diseases through a programme of medical research, education and support activities.

The Role

To research and write a range of high quality applications to trust, foundation, lottery and statutory funders that benefit the BLF in Scotland & Northern Ireland in order to maximise income and meet agreed income and expenditure targets.

Research, approach and secure income and support from charitable trusts/ foundations, statutory, lottery and similar bodies that benefit BLF Scotland and Northern Ireland in liaison with the Trust & Major Donor Manager to ensure that the BLF integrates and maximises approaches to a range of funders.

Prepare and manage an annual calendar of approaches to grant making bodies.

Identify and pursue new grant making bodies and manage existing relationships, drawing on the support of the Head of BLF Scotland & Northern Ireland.

Work with the Head of BLF Scotland & Northern Ireland to develop and implement a trust and statutory income strategy ensuring continued stability and planned growth in order to fulfil BLF’s charitable goals.

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven trust and/or statutory fundraising expertise or relevant experience that includes research, relationship building and proposal writing.

Ability to write persuasive proposals to a range of funders.

Experience of building successful relationships with grant making trusts and/or statutory and lottery funders.

Able to create and convey a clear vision of the organisation and to communicate that vision to a wide range of audiences.
