Help the Hospices was founded in 1984 and is the leading charity supporting hospice care throughout the UK.
Our work aims to represent and support our member hospices and work with them and other organisations to develop and improve hospice and palliative care throughout the UK and across the world.
Our strategic priorities for 2012 – 2016 are to:
• be the leading advocate for hospice care
• promote and support excellence in hospice care
• support those providing hospice care.
About the role
You will be required to lead and develop our individual giving and major donor programmes. You will be responsible for identifying prospects and building and maintaining relationships with major donors. You will develop a new strategy to build our programme for individual giving including developing our communications and overseeing our fundraising database. You will work closely with the CEO and senior directors of the charity and manage and develop a donor development fundraiser.
About you
You will have significant direct experience in individual giving with specific experience in major donor fundraising. You will need to be able to develop strong relationships at all levels, have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, the ability to think strategically and long-term and a passion to make a difference.
