Who are we?
Action on Hearing Loss is the new name for RNID. We are working for a world where hearing loss doesn’t limit or label people, where tinnitus is silenced and where people value and look after their hearing.
What will you do?
You will support the information officer and Community support officers by, recruiting, training and managing a group of volunteers to underpin a range of local activities. This includes Hear to help (hearing aid aftercare), befriending and information events. You will also support volunteers working on national Action on Hearing Loss programmes, e.g. community fundraising and campaigns.
Skills and Experience
You will have experience of working with and managing volunteers and you’ll be able to maximise the benefits they can bring to our Hear to help and information services. Highly organised and motivated, you will be an excellent communicator who enjoys a challenge. You will enthusiastically develop the volunteer scheme, network with professional contacts and provide a support service to deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people living in the South East. Sign language skills or the willingness to learn is also essential.
