International Media Manager

London£33000 - £37500 per annum

The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging and influencing stakeholders, driving coverage and awareness of global campaigns and positioning the charity as a global leader in animal welfare.

Role responsibilities:
*Devise and implement a global media strategy in line with the organisation's business plan and objectives
*Identify priority influential international media and devise a strategy to build WSPA's profile across these targets
*Identify opportunities for engaging strategically priority media in campaigns, and pursue media partnerships to support global work
*Play a key role in media issues, in particular dealing with the unexpected and directing priorities accordingly, rapidly considering implications in full and developing solutions
*Work with internationally recognised celebrity ambassadors and negotiate media activity with them focused around campaigns
*Map media trends to identify opportunities for influencing target media
*Coordinate with Regional Communications Managers and external agencies on specific global media initiatives/campaigns
*Work closely with Marketing team to ensure that high impact media campaigns that support fundraising and programme goals are delivered.

Candidates must have knowledge and understanding of international media and the role of media in advocacy campaigns, strong negotiation skills, experience of working with partners and stakeholders and the ability to act as a spokesperson. Experience within a charity in the communications department or in an international organisation is essential.
