As the professional membership organisation for fundraisers our overarching mission is to support fundraisers to bring in more funding for the causes they support. In order to do this we will create a better environment for fundraisers to raise money, increase understanding of fundraising and enable fundraisers to be the best they can be.
We have 5,200 individual members and over 350 organisational members as well as growing corporate support. We already have an excellent reputation as the market leader supporting the profession which collectively raises over £8 billion each year for good causes.
With a new CEO and strategy in place we are now looking to take the IoF to the next stage in its development, and the Director of Business Development and Finance will be vital in achieving this.
The IoF was established in 1983 by senior fundraisers who recognised that the profession needed to develop a strong voice to drive up standards and to provide fundraisers with access to knowledge and learning. Today the IoF is second only internationally to the USA’s Association of Fundraising Professionals in size, scale and role.
About the Role and You
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and commercially focused director to lead the growth and development of IoF as a successful member-led business. As a member of IoF’s Executive Management Board the post holder will play a key role in setting the overall strategic direction of the organisation, as well as making sure it achieves agreed objectives.
The post holder will have direct responsibility for a number of key functions including finance, business planning, fundraising and business development, volunteer and Group development, human resources, facilities and technology. The role is pivotal within IoF as it directly supports the organisations delivery of all externally focused products and services, as well as ensuring the IoF internally is fit to deliver its strategic objectives.
You will have an exceptional track record of successful delivery within an organisation of comparable size and complexity. Additionally you will be an inspiring leader with the ability to engage others and drive the IoF forwards to its next stage in development.
With its new CEO and strategy IoF is looking to further increase organisational impact including taking a strong lead in moving forward the UK’s giving agenda. Hours: 35 per week
