Our vision is to meet the physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs and wishes of all who need St Cuthbert’s Hospice, at every stage of their journey. We believe in the importance of quality of life, which helps people with life-limiting illnesses to make every day count. Set in beautiful grounds and gardens, the Hospice comprises a 10 bedded in-patient unit offering 24 hour care, and Day Hospice facilities where guests can enjoy social activities and benefit from treatments, complementary therapies and counselling. The Day Hospice cares for 15 guests per day, 4 days per week.

The successful candidate will build on our achievements working closely with the Board of Trustees and Senior Managers to lead the Hospice through the next stage of its development. This will involve raising the profile of the organisation, identifying and realising more opportunities so that the care St Cuthbert’s provides can reach more people in need and further strengthen the excellence of the services offered.

You will have strategic insight, an entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to collaboration to provide inspirational leadership that will enable the Hospice to make a positive difference to lives of people in the local community ensuring it is fit for purpose in an increasingly competitive landscape. We believe in using resources wisely, with respect and accountability. You will have sound business acumen and have good understanding of the health and social care sector. You will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to lead and inspire St Cuthbert’s staff and volunteers and to engage GPs and other healthcare professionals.
