Reporting to the Chief of Section (Leadership Giving), the Senior Fundraising Officer (Corporate Relations) will offer financial oversight and supervise staff within the unit working to raise funds from companies. S/he will be responsible for setting and implementing the Private Sector Fund Raising (PSFR) Corporate Partnerships Strategy and coordinating with UNHCR representations and National Associations in the PSFR Network involved in or planning to engage in corporate fund raising and partnerships.

Job description:
Reporting to the Chief of Section (Leadership Giving), the Senior Fundraising Officer (Corporate Relations) will offer financial oversight and supervise staff within the unit working to raise funds from companies. S/he will be responsible for setting and implementing the Private Sector Fund Raising (PSFR) Corporate Partnerships Strategy and coordinating with UNHCR representations and National Associations in the PSFR Network involved in or planning to engage in corporate fund raising and partnerships.

Main responsibilities:
• Develop the PSFR Corporate Partnerships Strategy and ensure it is communicated to the PSFR Network and implemented.
• Manage, design and develop funding relationships with existing and new international donors capable of giving sizable gifts (e.g. $1 million annually and above).
• Support the UNHCR Representations and national associations in the PSFR Network to develop and manage cooperation with their national corporate sector.
• Deliver training and capacity building on corporate fundraising as required to the global PSFR network.
• Communicate accurate and timely information in a persuasive manner to international corporate representatives on UNHCR’s programs and activities including on time reporting of the impact of their corporate contributions.
• Guide and accompany key corporate partners on missions to UNHCR camps and sites.
• Act as the Secretary to the UNHCR Corporate Partnerships Governing Board, chaired by the Deputy High Commissioner, and ensure that UNHCR PSFR policies for donor screening, evaluation and planning are followed.
• Manage and develop the UNHCR Council of Global Business Leaders according to the aims of the PSFR Corporate Partnerships Strategy.
• Provide financial tracking of corporate contributions made to the international office.
• Ensure that meticulous records of all approaches to prospects and donors and their outcomes are recorded in UNHCR’s PSFR database.
• Manage the annual budget for the Unit, fulfilling management information and reporting requirements as defined by PSFR’s senior management team for monthly, quarterly and annual budget and target monitoring.
• As delegated by the Chief of Section serve as the UNHCR liaison and focal point for communication and issues concerning the international corporate sector and advise senior managers accordingly.
• Perform other duties as required.

Candidate requirements:
• A university degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Management.
• Minimum of 12 years (10 years for MA degree holders) fundraising experience with major fundraising organisations and/or with humanitarian agencies.
• Minimum 7 years of private sector fundraising experience in a not-for-profit organisation or an international organisation or a marketing/fundraising consultancy firm, with at least 5 years at an international level.
• Demonstrated leadership and strategy setting experience in corporate fundraising, leading a team raising significant donations ($1 million plus) from companies and company foundations.
• Managerial experience as a member of a national charity senior management team or similar positions.
• Experience of effective communication at senior levels and with company leaders, providing compelling case for support and giving proposals.
• Good communication skills with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and good networking and relationship building skills
• Willingness to travel frequently (e.g. up to 25%) of work time spent out of duty station.
• Fluency in written and spoken English required; fluency in another UN language is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of humanitarian assistance and UN environment preferred.
• Experience working with an international organization with multiple geographical operational sites an asset.
