Head of UK Programme Funding (fundraising strategy)

London (Central), London (Greater) c. £45,000 + negotiable plus pension

Save the Children is the world’s independent children’s charity, fighting for children’s rights and helping them reach full potential.

Today nearly 4 million children live in poverty in the UK; driven from Board level we have renewed and refocused our ambition for UK Programmes.   Aiming to reach over 1 million children in the UK by 2015, achieving our goal of ending UK child poverty by 2020. To do this we need to increase our income for UK work substantially in the next three years to ensure we are on track to meet this goal.

As Head of UK Programme Funding you will drive a strategy to ensure income goals are met. Based within the Fundraising division to support, influence and give direction to the direct fundraising teams (public, major individual donors, corporate, charitable trusts / foundations and statutory donors).

This is not a face to face ‘account management’ fundraising role. With a 2015 income target of £30m/year by 2015, you will drives UK fundraising strategy.

Critically you have the opportunity to play a key role in the UK Programme Leadership team, who strategically develop and deliver the UK programme ambition.

As a lead member of both Fundraising and UK Programmes teams, you’ll have the gravitas and ability to inspire support from a wide range of internal networks.

We see you bringing with you expertise in delivering success in corporate, trusts or major donor fundraising or in successfully fundraising with a mass audience. You’ll have significant experience of project management and capacity building and be able to travel in the UK up to 60 days a year
