Vacancy – Chief Executive
Closing date: 16th April
Provisional interview date: Tuesday 24th April
Heartbeat is a dynamic charity providing cardiac rehabilitation services to over 500 people every week. We have also recently committed to investing in the development of our education and prevention programme which will see Heartbeat pro-actively promoting ‘Healthy Lifestyle’ advice and support across the North West.
‘Over 3,000 men and 1,000 women under the age of 75 die of coronary heart disease in the North West every year’
We have ambitious plans to reach even more people affected by the devastating impact of heart disease and to build on our prevention work to influence and educate the general public regarding associated risk factors. This work, however, would not be possible without the generous support of the public or the efforts of our Fundraising colleagues. We are, therefore, seeking a highly organised and motivated individual, who shares our passion for our work and has the ability to manage and support all our fundraising activities.
‘For many people heart disease is a long term condition. Cardiac rehabilitation is a cost effective, evidenced based approach to managing heart disease.’
This is an exciting and challenging role as Heartbeat enters its next phase of development. We are seeking an innovative, strategic leader with proven management skills to provide leadership to diversify our income streams and expand our services to reach even more people affected by heart disease.
A dynamic new Chief Executive is sought to lead this growing organisation and to be responsible for ensuring that the aims and objectives of the charity are fully achieved. You will have experience of devising and delivering strategy, governance, fundraising, financial controls and the ability to provide leadership and direction to a team of staff. This exciting and demanding role requires an experienced senior manager with proven ability to establish a clear vision for the development of a business strategy to meet charitable objectives.
The person will be a role model in their management and development of staff, conveying clear expectations and engaging staff with the mission of the organisation. In addition to demonstrable experience of leadership and managing change, the person will have an approach to staff management that enables strong team performance by maximising individual potential.
One in three people die from heart and circulatory disease each year
If you are looking for an opportunity to lead Heartbeat into a new chapter in our development, you are passionate about making a difference to the lives of people affected by heart disease and a great team player, then we want to hear from you!
