Dyslexia Action is a national charity that takes action to change the lives of children, young people and adults affected by dyslexia and literacy difficulties.

Over 6 million people in the UK are dyslexic and the huge demand for support means that we have ambitious plans to increase our reach by developing our Fundraising and Marketing Department.

The Fundraising and Marketing Department raises funds to support the on-going work of Dyslexia Action, generates awareness of the cause and develop the charity’s supporter base in order to help more people with dyslexia. We have ambitious and exciting plans to develop our community fundraising activity.

The Community Fundraising Executive is a fantastic new role as part our dynamic Supporter Relationship Team within the Fundraising and Marketing Department. The main responsibility of the role will be to grow the voluntary income of Dyslexia Action through community fundraising activity.

You will provide support to individuals who are taking part in fundraising events in aid of Dyslexia Action across the UK. You will also oversee the distribution of collection tins and banking of all collection tin income.

With the Supporter Relationship Manager you will develop and then implement an effective and sustainable strategy for community fundraising. Part of the strategy will be to develop Dyslexia Action’s fundraising activity and relationships within communities, in particular around our 25 teaching centres across the UK, as well as with individuals, groups, schools and universities.

An essential part of the role will also be to create a local group to raise awareness and to fundraise.

As part of the Supporter Relationship team you will play a key part in strengthening and increasing our supporter base, generating funds through individual giving and support, supporter communications, distribution of materials, and providing support, when necessary, to the Supporter Relationship Manager around the time of the Dyslexia Action Awards Dinner.
