ACCESS SPORT: NEW CHAIR AND NEW TRUSTEES
Can you help us to create sustainable sports clubs in disadvantaged areas? Now, more than ever, the work we do to get young people into sport is vital in helping to tackle some of the most difficult social problems we are facing.
Access Sport develops volunteer led community sports clubs for young people in disadvantaged areas to three key outcomes: growth, sustainability and youth development.
The charity’s partners and funders include GlaxoSmithKline, adidas, Barclaycard, The Mayor of London, the Host Olympic Boroughs, Sport England, Comic Relief, British Cycling and other National Governing Bodies.
Access Sport’s Club Development Programme has been awarded LOCOG’s Inspire Mark and Ambassadors include Bradley Wiggins, Rebecca Romero, James Cracknell, Greg Searle, Rachel Yankey, John Barnes, and David James. More information can be found at www.accesssport.org.uk/our-projects.
CHAIR OF TRUSTEES
Access Sport’s founding Chair is retiring. In the build up to the London Olympic Games and the related opportunities that this provides, the charity seeks a new Chair of Trustees to:
- Take overall accountability for the board of trustees providing leadership and support
- Provide advice to the CEO as required in the running and strategic development of the charity
The role requires someone with extensive business experience, a broad network of contacts and a passion for the cause. The charity is based in London and board meetings are held there quarterly.
NEW TRUSTEES
Access Sport is further strengthening the Trustee Board and is looking for applicants who have experience in the business / financial sector, voluntary sector and community / sport development.
