Development of the communications strategy, messaging, audience and channels
Drive, develop and implement the online communications strategy
Act as first point of contact for media enquiries
Write media releases, statements, contributed articles and other public facing information
Translate scientific documents into easily digestible documents for lay audiences
Build and maintain good relationships with key agencies
ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:
Demonstrable experience working for a public relations, corporate communications or public affairs departments
Previous, recent experience managing national media campaigns including, strategy development, crafting pitches, media outreach and coordinating press interviews and events
Experience managing and developing proactive and reactive media relations
Experience of directing and managing the development of content and production of publications as well as information for websites
Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills
Good analytical skills
Enthusiastic and professional
Strong team player
