Chief Executive Officer

The current General Secretary will shortly be retiring and therefore a superb opportunity exists for someone to lead the Institute and support the trustees and operational council in its transformation agenda. Reporting to the trustees, the CEO will provide leadership to the team  of 15, and play a significant role in business planning and development, financial management, people management, charity and business law; to represent the Institute in forums of cognate professional bodies and in scientific publishing, academia and industry.

The CEO will harness the support and resources of the membership to deliver on charitable aims and objectives and to secure a firm financial base for the charity through the development of its current income streams and new business opportunities.

This exciting and demanding role requires an experienced senior executive with proven ability to establish a clear vision for the development of a business strategy to meet charitable objectives. A track record in developing one or more relevant areas including member based organisations, conference delivery, education and publication. The ability to lead and operate IPEM as a commercial business is crucial. Experience of charities and the voluntary sector is desirable.
