A web developer is required to join a young, vibrant team undertaking the development and maintenance of a unique, free public website providing comprehensive information about everything the UK voluntary and community sector has to offer. Additionally, be involved with the continued development the organisation’s website which consists of its intelligent application offering. This role offers a superb opportunity for someone looking to work in a focussed team, delivering real world benefits to millions of people in the UK. It is essential that the candidate has two year's experience of ASP.NET, XML, C#, Microsoft .NET framework 1.1 and 2.0, Object Orientated Design and SQL Server 2000/2005. Exposure to Java and JavaScript would be beneficial, as would knowledge of web site design and hosting. You will have excellent communication and numeracy skills and have demonstrable ability to meet deadlines and exceed expectations. Drive and enthusiasm are of greater importance than commercial experience .Unfortunately we are unable to sponsor work permits.
Your will need to work closely with the development team as well as the rest of the office and all development will be consistent with current implementations. Also, you will be involved in understanding, and supporting strategic objectives and user needs. The role is a versatile one that involves aspects of application testing, system design and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the maintenance of the organisation’s UK / international web site • Assist with the maintenance of service delivery applications • Assisting in the maintenance and design of the organisation’s International database ensuring it is fit for purpose • Assisting in the design and build of any support processes to achieve a successful website build • Documenting all code developed • Testing all website related components and documenting the results • Offer expert opinion on architecture and technology implementation • Being involved in all database driven application development • Development of web pages to the highest accessibility standards • Develop and implement test plans for future development
