Rathbone is a national organisation giving young people who are experiencing significant disadvantages the right opportunities to learn and to achieve.
We have recently undertaken a strategic review of existing fundraising approaches in order to identify areas of work likely to offer the greatest potential for diversification of funding. We are establishing a new Fundraising Department lead by a Director of Fundraising as a result. Existing public sector income and relationships provide a strong foundation on which to secure independent income and add value to Rathbone’s core activities. We now need professionals to join us at this crucial time or our development.
Reporting to the Director of Fundraising the overall purpose of the role is to diversify the funding base by maximising income from charitable trusts and foundations, European Union funding, Lottery and other statutory and non-statutory funding sources. You will also take overall responsibility for co-ordinating trust and statutory fundraising activity of regional teams as well as national fundraising for those sources.
The successful candidate will have senior experience of fundraising, bid writing, or grant giving, of relationship building with funding bodies, and a track record in successfully developing or managing substantial funding applications. Among your strengths will be good influencing and negotiating skills in order to work in collaboration with key decision makers within funding organisations.
